Amelia Davila Rocha, 86 of Fisher, MN, passed away peacefully Monday night, January 22, 2018, at the McIntosh Senior Living Nursing Home in McIntosh, MN with family by her side.
Amelia was born July 10, 1930 to Raymond and Maria Davila in San Antonio, TX. She would spend all of her early life in San Antonio where she would also meet the love of her life, her husband, Arturo. Later, as a couple, they would move to Fisher, MN, in 1954. Amelia had many different jobs throughout her life, her first being at Ryan Potato Co. in East Grand Forks, MN. She would also work alongside her husband and family for Harold and Bob Ross farms in the Fisher, MN area. Amelia also would spend many years working at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN as well as the Mount St. Benedict in Crookston, MN where she worked as a CNA, and formed very special relationships with all she worked with. Amelia was an amazing cook, where her favorite meals to cook were those she would prepare for her family when they would all come home and visit. She had a love for music, dancing, and spending her summers out in her yard planting flowers. Amelia was a member of both the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN and St. Francis Catholic Church in Fisher, MN. Amelia was a very kindhearted loving mother and will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
Amelia is survived by her 8 children; Art (Emma) Rocha of Maxwell, TX, Linda (Lars) Hamland of Kalispell, MT, Robert (Lynnette) Rocha of Crookston, MN, Molly Marshall (Chris Perales) of Waco, TX, Irene (Shannon) Gladue of Crookston, MN, Frank (Brenda) Rocha of Crookston, MN, Nora (Steve) Geatz of Crookston, MN, and Jay Rocha (Kim Connolly) of Kalispell, MT. Ameila is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, as well as by two brothers, Raymond and Jesse Davila of San Antonio, TX. Amelia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arturo Rocha; her parents; sisters, Julia, Estella, Sandra, Margaritta, and Lupe. Also preceding Amelia in passing are 3 brothers, Ortilia, Gilbert, and Juan.
The family would like to specially thank the McIntosh Senior Living staff for all the love and care they showed Amelia.
A Memorial Mass will be held to honor Amelia’s life Saturday February 10, 2018, at 12:00p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fisher, MN. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services with burial taking place in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Crookston, MN. Fr. Xavier Ilango will be presiding.
