Amy Jeanette Follette, 24, of Crookston, MN, passed away in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, on Wednesday evening, August 21st, 2024, with her family at her side. Together, they had all been battling Amy’s heath issues for the past several years.
Amy was born in Crookston on June 21st, 2000, the precious baby girl of Brian and Julie (Weber) Follette. She was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church, and as the baby of the family raised in a very loving home together with her older brothers, Nicholas and Christopher. Amy began her education in Crookston’s Washington Elementary School and later Highland Middle School. She and her seventh-grade classmates then moved to Crookston High School. Amy participated in as many school activities as she could, and as a multiple letter winner in tennis she participated in three Minnesota State Tennis Tournaments. She was very proud of her membership in the exclusive Pirate 100+ Win Club. Amy also placed in the Minnesota State High School League art competition and wanted to pursue her passion for the arts. After graduation from Crookston High School with the Class of 2018, Amy went on to attend the University of North Dakota for the next few years and lived in Grand Forks. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and also found joy in attending Freedom Church in Grand Forks.
Throughout her teen years Amy found the time and energy to work, first as a high school freshman and for the next several years for Kim Samuelson at Crookston’s RBJ’s, and later at UND as a House Parent for the North Dakota School for the Blind/Vision Services. She also loved working with the students of all ages during Short Term Program weeks. There are probably many who will remember Amy as the always smiling, cheerful young lady who served them at the Blue Moose in East Grand Forks. Amy lived in Spearfish, SD and St. Paul for a short time before returning home to Crookston and Grand Forks.
Amy loved showing off her “green thumb” while messing around with her houseplants and sharing them with her friends. Time spent with Mom, Dad, and all was a joy for her and she was always up for anything on the agenda whether it be hiking, baking, fishing, or whatever. Amy absolutely adored her two nieces, Lacey and Mallory, and would do anything for them. Last, but equally as important, were her two fur babies, Lady and later Sasha. They were a huge part of Amy’s life and definitely not pets, but family.
Amy will be forever loved and live on in the hearts of her Dad and Mom, Brian and Julie; her two brothers and their families: Nicholas Andrew Follette, his former spouse, Sarah Ann Follette, and their two daughters, Lacey Jean and Mallory Sophia, and Christopher Anthony Follette, his wife, Caisie Morgan Follette, and their expected baby boy; Grandpa, Everett LeRoy Follette; her favorite and best dog, Sasha; and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Amy is now safe in the arms of her Lord and Savior and reunited with grandparents: Willard “Willie” and Jeanette “Netty” Marie Weber and Joan Follette; and her Angel Dog, Lady!
Treasured be the memory of Amy Jeanette Follette for all who were a part of her life.
