Arno Krueger

Arno "Arne" Krueger, age 87, Crookston, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston. Arne was born on January 2, 1926 in Fredonia, ND, son of Edward and Christina (Widmer) Krueger. He grew up in a farming family in Fredonia. He was the third youngest of fifteen brothers and sisters. Arne served in the US Army Air Corps during the latter part of WWII, returning to Kulm, ND following his discharge in 1947. Arne was united in marriage with Lavina Franz on June 19, 1949 at Fredonia. He worked as a mechanic with Brost Brothers Chevrolet in Kulm from 1950 to 1968. The family moved to Crookston, where Arne worked for Brost Chevrolet from 1968 until his retirement in 1991, serving as service manager and later as parts manager.

Arne is survived by his wife of 64 years: Lavina and his sister: Hedwig (Hattie) Krueger, both of Crookston; two sons: Bruce (Jill) Krueger of Omaha, Nebraska and Kerry (Gwen) Krueger of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren: Olivia, Erin and Jack Krueger. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Christina; twelve brothers and a sister. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
