Beverly Elin Radi, age 76, of Fisher, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND.
Beverly was born on June 15, 1940, in Crookston, MN, to Steve and Frances (Meier) Johnson. She attended Crookston Public School and graduated from Crookston High School in 1958. On November 14, 1969, Beverly eloped in marriage to Orville Radi of Fisher, MN, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN. They made their family home in Fisher, MN. Bev worked as a nurse's aide at Bethesda Hospital after graduating from high school until her and Orville started their family in 1970. Later when her children were teenagers, she worked in the kitchen for Fisher Public School.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Fisher, and many groups including Homemakers, Fisher Chamber of Commerce, Trinity Lutheran Church quilting, Bethesda Hospital Reunion, and all activities her children were involved with such as 4-H and Music Boosters. Bev was a very devoted mother and wife. Her and Orv would travel all over the area supporting their children in their sporting and music activities. She loved harvest time in the fall and bringing supper out to the harvest crew. Her passion was sewing, including quilts, appliqued sweatshirts, baby blankets, booties, & soft books, mending and altering items for others, and her famous casserole carriers. Many of her projects including her homemade apple jelly were proudly entered at the Polk County Fair. Later in life, Bev cherished her time with her coffee friends and loved staying close to home to watch her grandchildren grow.
Bev is survived by her husband of 47 years, Orville; son, David Radi of Fisher, MN; daughter, Melanie (Jeff) Holbeck of Crookston, MN; daughter-in-law Nichelle Radi of Grand Forks, ND; seven grandchildren, Reese and Brenna Radi; Jayson and Mikey Holbeck; and Madison, McKenzi, and Maci Radi; and brother, Stephan "BZ" Johnson of Grand Forks, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Frances Johnson, and her son Todd Radi.
There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fisher, MN. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Fisher, MN.
