Bruce was born on November 8, 1954, to Russell Carl Parr and Bonnie Jean (Davis) Parr in Crookston, Minnesota, where he resided his entire life. He graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1973. After graduation, began as volunteer firefighter and continued as a fulltime firefighter, where he served for 27 years. Bruce always had an interest in automotive, even as a youngster on his grandpa’s farm, and in the family auto business. He worked at the Auto Value Auto Parts store on his days off from the firehall and continued to provide this service through his retirement and until just before his passing. Everyone knew they could ask Bruce anything about automotive and he would find the parts or know what was needed.
Bruce had a Heart of Gold. He truly would give the shirt off his back to anyone. His pride and joy were his girls and his grandchildren and time spent with them was most special to him! Bruce lived close to his mother, Bonnie, and he took pride in looking after her. They enjoyed watching baseball and Vikings football together. He also enjoyed lots of card games and dice with his friends. He was fond and eager for his fishing trips to Canada too!
Bruce was a member of Sheriff’s Posse since 2004. He was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Bruce also received recognition for his 27 years of service with the Crookston Fire Department.
