1945 Carole 2022

Carole Marie Juvrud

July 6, 1945 — September 30, 2022

Crookston

Carole Marie Juvrud, 77, of Crookston, MN, passed away early Friday morning, September 30, 2022, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Carole was born in Crookston on July 6, 1945, the daughter of Oren and Edna (Butenhoff) Seaton. She grew up with her 2 brothers in Crookston and was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Carole attended Crookston public schools and graduated from Central High School as a member of the Class of 1963. She soon began employment with the Polk County Treasurer’s Office. On August 26, 1967, she was united in marriage to John “Jack” James Juvrud at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Crookston was home for the couple throughout their married lives and the early years would see their union blessed by 3 girls: Tana, Jaclynn, and Kathy.

Carole was a devoted member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Women of the Church. She also held longtime memberships in the Crookston Eagles Aerie Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.

Helping her family, a relative, or friend was Carole’s greatest gift.  Going to the Grand Theatre for most any movie was a great joy to her.  Competing with Jack every morning, playing Yahtzee, was the highlight of the day.  She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and her dog Kadee. Anyone who knew Carole for more than 5 minutes became a friend for life. She loved to visit and talk, and if you could get a word in occasionally, well good for you!  She kept a calendar with most everyone’s birthday, because she wouldn’t want to miss calling them.  She was a gift to all that knew her.

Carole is survived by Jack, her beloved husband of 55 years; their 3 daughters and  son-in-law: Tana and Randy Hultgren of Union Lake, near Erskine, MN, Jaclynn Juvrud of Grand Forks, ND, and Kathy Schroeder of Crookston, MN; granddaughter, Marion Juvrud of Grand Forks, ND ; granddaughter-in-law Jessie Hultgren of Tulalip, WA; 2 sisters-in-law, Nancie Goodyke of Prescott, AZ, Marilyn Juvrud of Crookston and a special sister, Verna Gatheridge of Crookston; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Edna Seaton; her beloved grandson, Chad Hultgren, who died in 2020 after a sudden illness; 2 brothers, Arlynn Seaton and Loren “Butch” Seaton; parents-in-law, Oscar and Marion Juvrud; brother-in-law, Donald Juvrud; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ardis and Bob Carlstrom; as well as several aunts and uncles. May God richly bless the memory of Carole Marie Juvrud.
