Cristina Arguelles

Cristina Arguelles, age 55, of Crookston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on Friday, April 11, 2025. She was born to Evaristo and Angelita (Martinez) Arguelles on March 1, 1970 in Brownsville, TX.

Cristina grew up in Brownsville and started a family. As her family grew, they traveled across the country and made their way through Ohio, Michigan, then finally settling down in Minnesota.  Cristina worked in many professions ranging from migrant work, housekeeping, food industry, Crystal Sugar and school teacher. She was a free spirited woman who liked to have a good time.  Her home was always filled with people, music, the smell of good food, and her contagious laughter. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, dancing, shopping, listening to music, fishing, camping, and grilling out. More than anything, she loved having sleep overs and spending time with her grandchildren.  Cristina was always down to have a good time, long talk, or late night. She had a big heart that held space for many. As her time came closer, Cristina was hopeful that the people she cared about could gather to honor her passing amicably. She requested no fighting among anyone and Micheladas for all. 

Cristina is survived by her mother, Angelita; children, Herlinda (Jesse Sanchez) Cisneros, Christine (Sarah Barstad) Cisneros, and Freddie (Haleigh) Cisneros Jr.; grandchildren, Jesse Jr, Samantha, Benjamin, Kimberley, Esmeralda, M, Trinity, Avery, Dominic, and Freddie III; great grandson, Arlo Grey Cisneros; siblings, Imelda, Lina, Ana, Adriana, Esmeralda, Adrian, and Evaristo.

She is preceded in death by her father, Evaristo, former husband and father to her children, Freddie Cisneros, and her grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
