Dale Russell Stoe Sr., 74, of Crookston, MN, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with his family at his side. He was born June 6, 1942 in Badger, MN, the youngest of 10 children of the union of Clarence and Anna (Holter) Stoe. He grew up in the Roseau-Badger area where he attended country schools. Audrey and Dale made their home in Crookston where they raised their 5 children: Tammy, Rob, John, Dale Jr., and Jeanne. Through the years Dale was employed at Elk River Concrete, Red River Alfalfa, and other Crookston businesses. For the last several years he was self-employed, traveling around the area collecting scrap iron and various collector items. He loved meeting people and getting to know about them. Dale was an avid hunter and fisherman and looked forward to time spent on the local lakes and rivers, reeling in the "big ones."
Dale is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Audrey; their 5 children: Tammy Stoe, Rob (Tammy) Stoe, John Stoe, Dale Stoe Jr., and Jeanne Stoe (Jay Amiot), all of Crookston, MN; 8 grandchildren: Dustin and Tasha Orendorf, Dylan Mendez, Andrew ( Jessica Kvidt ) Stoe, Brittany (Danny) Okstad , Christina (Charlie) Clark, Alexander Stoe (Mandie Persson) and Cameron Stoe; 3 great-grandchildren: Emmy Johnson, Merric Wold, and Luna Stoe; 4 sisters: Florence Hillyer and Eleanor Wellen of Thief River Falls, MN, Adeline (Curtis) Olson of Wannaska, MN, and Donna Roland of Scobey, MT; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
