Darrel Blow

Darrel D. Blow, age 66, of Crookston, MN, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at RiverView Hospital in Crookston, MN. Darrel was born on August 12, 1947 at Grafton, ND, son of Thomas and Myrtle (Gonyo) Blow. The family moved to Crookston when he was young. He graduated from Crookston Central High School in the 1965. He was a hot-rod enthusiast, enjoyed his Chevelle and Friday night races in Grand Forks. As a young man, he also enjoyed fishing. He was united in marriage with Linda Fetting on January 28, 1972 in Ada, MN. He worked as a mechanic at Brost Chevrolet and then with Crookston Marine, before starting with the Minnesota Highway Department, where he worked for thirty years, retiring ten months ago. Darrel served in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972. He enjoyed gardening and working outside. Darrel is survived by his wife of over forty years: Linda; three children: Terri (Steve) Follingstad of Moorhead, Bryan Blow of Fargo, and Scott Blow of Crookston; four grandchildren: Mya Follingstad, Ethan Kamranian, Jasmine Blow and Mari Follingstad. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Myrtle Blow; three brothers: Leonard Blow, Marvin Blow and Rodger Blow. Darrel's funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, with the Rev. Jo Gast, officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7 pm, visitation will continue Thursday morning for one hour before the service. Stenshoel-Houske is assisting with the arrangements.
