David Allyn Larson, age 53, of Crookston, MN, passed away on Monday, February 5th, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
David was born in Crookston, MN on October 12, 1964 to Spencer and Patricia (Degelder) Larson. He graduated from Crookston high school in 1983. He then attended the University of Minnesota-Crookston and graduated in 1986.
David was united in marriage to Donna Stainbrook, on January 2, 1987. The two of them lived in Kirkland, WA and then Champlin, MN before moving back to Crookston, MN in 1997. They had three children together, Danielle, Dominique, and Douglas.
He was employed with the Minnesota Department of Transportation as the District 2 Maintenance supervisor and was a Crookston volunteer firefighter from 2000-2014.
David was a member of the congregation at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
David enjoyed watching his children play sports and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his wife, Donna Larson; children, Danielle (Justin) Johnson of Crookston, MN, Dominique Larson of Crookston, MN, and Douglas Larson of Crookston, MN; grandchildren, Teegan Johnson and Blair Johnson; sisters, Brenda (Ed) Shepersky of Menahga, MN and Mary Pat (Paul) Peterson of San Tan, AZ; brothers, Spencer (Nancy) Larson of Euclid, MN , Joe (Denette) Larson of Crookston, MN, and his mother Patricia Shepersky of Park Rapids, MN.
He is preceded in death by his father, Spencer Larson.
There will be a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018. The memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Both services will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials will be given in David’s honor to the Sandra J. Schulze Hope Lodge, Rochester, MN.
