Debra Martinez
July 28, 1954 — October 28, 2017
Debra Jo Martinez, born July 28 1954 to Ordean and Delores Nelson of Crookston MN, peacefully joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday October 28, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her husband of 41 years, José Pablo Martinez, her daughters, and grandchildren.
Debra met José in July of 1976 and they wed six weeks later! They went on to have many adventures, with their love growing stronger every day. Together, Debra and José had two beautiful daughters, and watched their family grow over the years to include, two son-in-laws, six wonderful grandchildren, and two beautiful great granddaughters.
Debra dedicated her life to serving the Lord and sharing her faith in Jesus with everyone she met. She loved spending time with her husband and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, and sister. Debra loved knitting and making all kinds of crafts and gifts for her friends and family. She had a contagious laugh and infectious smile. Debra was a blessing to all who knew her, and will be so very greatly missed.
A celebration of Debra’s life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the First Assembly of God Church, in Crookston, MN, at 11:00am. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services. Pastor Bill Humiston will be presiding.
