Duane Coauette

Duane Dennis Coauette, age 76, of Crookston, MN, died peacefully, with his family by his side, at Riverview Hospital on December 9, 2017.

Duane was born September 10, 1941 in Crookston to Bill and Lucille Coauette. He was raised on the farm with his 7 brothers and 2 sisters, and had very fond memories of that time.

Duane met and fell in love with Judith Pengra. They were married on February 14, 1961. They made their home with their 4 children south of town on the farm they built together. Farming was his lifelong passion and called it his hobby after retirement. Duane was also proud to be a member of the National Guard.

Duane was known, loved, and respected by many, and will be sorely missed at his many coffee table discussions. May God bless Duane’s memory.

Duane is survived by his wife Judy of 56 years; his children, Lori (Gary) Hoerner of Crookston, Tammy (Frank Kaiser) Coauette of Crookston, Jim (Jen) Coauette of Crookston, and Dennis Coauette of Duluth. He is loved and will be missed by his 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also, his brothers, Dick (Faye) Coauette, Bob (Gayle) Coauette, Ken (Sherry) Coauette, Mylon (Pat) Coauette; sister, Vicki (Ken) Borg; brothers Ronnie (Carol) Coauette, Randy (Susie) Coauette; sister, Bonnie (Bill) LaPlante; and brother, Tim (Robyn) Coauette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lucille Coauette.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Riverview Hospital for their excellent care and compassion through this difficult time.

There will be a memorial service and a time of sharing, with a visitation one hour prior to service, at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN.
