Ellen Mary Beggs, 58, of Crookston, MN died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in the comfort of her home after a short, but courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born at Herts and Essex General Hospital in Bishops Stortford England on October 30, 1957 to Richard and Pamela (Lee) White. Ellen lived in several countries and states as her father was in the Air Force. She graduated High School in Rantoul Illinois in 1975, and attended UMC in Crookston, MN. Ellen was blessed with three daughters, Rachel, Dana and Krystal with her first husband David Wilkens. On September 6, 1986 she was united in marriage to Randy Beggs. Ellen was a beloved daycare provider for 19 years in Crookston, her daycare kids knew her as 'the good cooker'. She worked briefly at Dahlgrens then for 18 years at New Flyer of America. Ellen was a dedicated member of the Crookston Eagles #873, serving as madam president from 2008-2009. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church of Crookston. Ellen had many hobbies throughout the years including softball, darts and bowling. She enjoyed spending time with her many grandchildren, at the lake with her family and friends, and long motorcycle rides with her husband. Ellen is preceded in death by her infant son, her mother-in-law Mary Beggs and her best friend Betty Boyd. She is survived by Randy, her husband of 29 years, daughters Rachel (Chuck) Davis of Savannah GA, Dana (Zebadiah) of Fargo ND, and Krystal (Jonathan) Noyes of Erskine MN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren - Dante, Jabree, Isabella, Caleb, Owen, Felix, Jacob, Axel, Elvis and Abel. Other survivors include her parents Richard and Pamela White, four sisters – Ruth, Amy, Bertha and Colleen, brother Nelson and many, many, friends and relatives. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, Crookston. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the memorial service in the church.
