Eugene LaJesse

Eugene "Frenchy" LaJesse, 68, of LaMoure ND, passed away July 1, 2015 at the St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure. He was born April 13, 1947 to Peter and Kathryn (Solheim) LaJesse in Little Falls MN. Eugene attended neighborhood schools in Crookston and graduated from Central High School. He entered the United States Marine Corps where he served his country for three years. After being honorably discharged, Eugene returned to Crookston and worked in sales at Gambles Store. "Frenchy" could sell you anything, whether you needed it or not! He also was the owner of Frenchy's Taxi in Crookston. Eugene married Sylvia Amiot in 1969, later he married Rita Peterson. They lived together in Fargo ND for a time, then was married to Kathy Walker before moving to New Jersey. From there, he moved to Florida, Montana and North Dakota. Eugene was an active volunteer everywhere he was in life and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Aaron) Scoles of Billings MT, Samantha (John) Twombley of Fort Worth TX, and Jacki (Chad) Ohman of Fargo ND; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Marcel (Jean) LaJesse & Dennis LaJesse of Crookston; sisters, Lori (Andy) Seminazzi of Orlando FL, Sherry (Sam) Betancud of Bridgeport NE and Irene (Vince) Streeks of Scottsbluff NE; aunt, Jean Solheim of Crookston; with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Gamer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2PM Tuesday July 7, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
