Evelyn Luverne Solheim, 99, of Alameda, CA, passed away early Friday morning, November 9, 2018, in the Golden Age Senior Living Center there. She had recently been receiving care from Suncrest Hospice of Alameda.
Evelyn was a native of Crookston, born on February 26, 1919, the daughter of Nels and Mary (Sylvester) Solheim. She grew up in Crookston where she graduated from Central High School. Her entire adult life was spent in the Oakland and Almeda areas of California. For over 40 years she was employed as a secretary-bookkeeper for Pacific Fruit Express, a railroad serving the west coast.
Evelyn is survived by nephews, Dennis Goodyke and Richard (Kathy) Goodyke of Crookston; niece, Nancie Goodyke of Brighton, CO; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Mary Solheim; and sister and brother-in-law, Mayme and Henry Goodyke.
A graveside service for Evelyn Solheim will be held next Spring at the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston.
