Florence Marie (Prudhomme) Dufault Florence Marie (Prudhomme) Dufault, 95 died peacefully with family by her side Friday, October 9, 2015 while under Hospice care following a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a resident of Eventide Nursing Home, Moorhead and formerly a longtime resident of Gentilly and Crookston, MN. The Funeral Mass begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Gentilly, MN. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. with a rosary at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery following Mass. Florence was born on her parents farm near Gentilly, Mn July 15, 1920 the daughter of Ed and Anna (Fontaine) Prudhomme. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Church, Gentilly. As a young girl, Florence attended country school and worked on her parents dairy and grain farm. She will be remembered as the older sister helping her mother with cooking and caring for her younger siblings. Florence was united in marriage to Leo Joseph Dufault, January 9th of 1940 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. They operated a small dairy and grain farm where Florence became a devoted wife, homemaker and mother. In 1964, the couple turned over their farming operation to their son, Roland, and then moved into the village of Gentilly. Florence found work with the Cathedral School Hot Lunch Program. She also worked in private homes doing daycare, housekeeping, painting and varnishing. Happy memories were made as she became a beloved friend to many young people she cared for. For many years, Florence was active in the church guild, St. Anne's Sodality, Catholic Foresters, Senior Citizens Club and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Florence and Leo wintered several years in Arizona where they enjoyed many happy times playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Florence spent a lot of time making afghans, crocheting doilies and towels which her loved ones will treasure. Sadly on September 2, 2000 Leo died unexpectedly of a heart attack. Fortunately, earlier that year the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Florence will be greatly missed but happily remembered by her family that include her two sons, Francis (Joann) Dufault of Moorhead, MN and Roland Dufault of Phoenix, AZ; five daughters, Diana Bourque of Fargo, ND, Carol (Don) Amundson of Devils Lake, ND, Monica (Ron) Beauchane of Red Lake Falls, MN, Mary Roue of Crookston, MN and Bev Jung of East Grand Forks, MN; a sister, Dorothy LaCoursiere of Milwaukee, WI; and a brother, Hilaire (Jean) Prudhomme of New Lisbon, WI. Also, leaving to mourn their beloved grandmother are 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several step "grands" along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Florence will enter her heavenly home to join her dear Leo; two sons-in-law, John Roue and David Jung; grandsons, Kevin Dufault and Mark Loock, her parents and seven siblings, Leonard, Madeline, Theresa, Ceciliia, Paul, Doris and Larry.
