Gladys Snyder, ( Mrs. Donald) passed away on April 24 , 2016 in Crookston, Minnesota. Gladys was born to Sam and Annie (Gunderson) Peterson in Oklee, MN. She was a graduate of Oklee High School. While going to school she worked at the Green Lantern Restaurant in Red Lake Falls, MN. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, Minnesota. When her children were younger, Gladys was a stay at home mom who made homemade buns, cookies, caramel rolls, pickles, baked goods, and was an excellent cook. She loved to sew beautiful clothes for herself and her daughter. When her children were older, she worked as a waitress at Roberts Restaurant, and as a clerk at Mercil's Jewelry Store, and Widman's Candy Store in Crookston.
Gladys loved to volunteer, serving a multitude of funeral lunches and was always helping others whenever she could. She was humble and private, and always put other's needs first; a prayerful, loving servant of God with a beautiful smile, and a friend to many. She and Don attended every benefit and event in town. She loved to play with her children and visit with the neighborhood friends and children who never wanted to go home. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alvin; two brother-in-laws; one sister-in-law; her nephew; other relatives and many, many, friends. She is survived by her husband Donald; a daughter, Bev of Grand Forks, ND; a son, Duane (Rose) Snyder of Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Millie Howard of Staples, MN and Lydia Skarsten of St. Paul, MN. Special cousins, Darlene (Bud) Blackstad, Eddie (Ione) Olson, and Mylan Olson all of Thief River Falls, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. A memorial Mass will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Crookston, MN. The family will greet friends the hour prior to the Mass.
