Harriet Anne Hendrickson, 88, a lifelong Crookston, MN resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 30, 2012, at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston. Harriet was born in Crookston on December 3, 1923, the daughter of Albert and Vella (Burkhardt) Menard. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1942. In 1945 Harriet received her 3-year diploma as a Registered Nurse from the St. Cloud School of Nursing and Cadet Academy. She returned to Crookston and was employed as an R.N. at St. Vincent's Hospital. On August 16, 1947 Harriet was united in marriage to Curtis Lloyd Hendrickson at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parsonage in Crookston. Harriet and Curt made their home in Crookston all their married lives and together raised a son, Paul Curtis. Harriet later became an office nurse with the Crookston Clinic for 18 years, followed by 5 years with the Polk County Mobile Health Unit, and another 5 years as a Registered Nurse with the WIC program. She was a devoted member of the Cathedral parish and St. Ann's Circle, and also held memberships in the Auxiliaries of the American Legion, VFW, and Eagles Aerie. For over 40 years Harriet and Curt had enjoyed summers at their lake home near Cass Lake, MN, and spent 8 winters in Gulf Shores, AL. They also made several trips to different parts of the country, including numerous visits to see their son, Paul, and his family in Anchorage, AK. Harriet will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends, and very sadly missed. Grateful to have shared in Harriet's life is her beloved husband of almost sixty-five years, Curt; her son, Paul Curtis Hendrickson and his wife, Katherine Proulx Hendrickson, of Anchorage, AK; two grandchildren, Nathan Curtis Hendrickson of Anchorage and Stephanie Proulx Hendrickson Aglietti and her husband, Craig Aglietti, of Anchorage; a brother, Frederick "Fritz" Menard (Fritz just passed away on June 1st,) sister, Lilah Tiedeman, and sister-in-law, Rosemary Menard, all of Crookston; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Vella Menard; brother, Burke Menard; brother-in-law, Ervin "Hap" Tiedeman; and sister-in-law, Donna Menard. May God bless Harriet's memory.
