Helen Prudhomme, age 88, of Nebraska City, NE, formerly of Crookston, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Helen was born July 4, 1927 to Knute and Hilda Stortroen in Climax, MN. She graduated from Climax schools in 1945. After briefly living in South Bend, IN, Helen moved back to Crookston, MN, and worked as a bookkeeper for local businesses. On January 7, 1952, Helen married Donald Prudhomme. The couple lived in Crookston for a couple of years before moving to Aurora, MN. They returned to Crookston, MN, where they lived on a farm for thirteen years. After that they moved to town where Helen began working for the public schools. After she retired, her and Donald started wintering in Las Vegas, NV, where they worked as security guards for a private firm. Helen is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Sidney and Loran; and her loving husband. She is survived by her brother, Arvid (Marlene) of Climax, MN; children, Andrew (Mary) of Seneca Falls, NY, Bruce (Karen) of Bremerton, WA, Caroline (Rob) of Plattsmouth, NE; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
