Ivah G. Drumheller, age 92, Grand Forks, ND (formerly Fisher, MN) died of cancer Friday, May 9, 2014 at Maple View Memory Care in Grand Forks. Ivah Gladys Newhouse was born on August 20, 1921 in Crookston, MN, daughter of William "WC" and Grace (Avery) Newhouse. She grew up in Crookston and was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Crookston. Ivah was united in marriage with Alexander Drumheller on September 24, 1941 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Crookston. They lived at Fisher, MN, while Alex continued to work for the Great Northern Railroad. They owned and operated the Fisher Confectionary Shop in Fisher from 1957 to 1961. Ivah worked in the sugar beet and potato harvests and also was an Avon Representative. She lived at the Good Samaritan Center in East Grand Forks from 2004 to 2013. Her husband, Alex, died on September 3, 2005. She entered the Maple View Memory Care in Grand Forks in 2013. Ivah was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fisher, the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid. She had also been involved with the Kittson 4-H. Survivors include her daughter: Judy (Phillip) Yagla of Grand Forks; her son: Dennis Drumheller of Columbia Falls, MT; five grandchildren: David, Dan and Steve Yagla, Megan and Michelle Drumheller; five great-grandchildren: Alex, William and Charles Yagla, Andrew and KayLee Yagla; sisters-in-law: Lyla Newhouse of Crookston, Verna Newhouse of Grand Forks, and Rosemary Nelson of Virginia, MN. Ivah was preceded in death by her parents: William and Grace Newhouse; brothers: Earl, Harold, Glenn, Kenneth and Irvin Newhouse; sister: Luella Whitney; great-grandson: Jonathan Yagla, niece: Joyce Tanguay; nephews: Gerald Newhouse and Randy Newhouse. Ivah's funeral service will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisher, MN, with The Rev. David Laue, officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston, MN. Stenshoel-Houske is assisting with the arrangements. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, Fisher or the American Cancer Society.
