James Prosje

James Edward "Jim" Prosje, 57, of Crookston, MN, died early Sunday morning, November 2, 2014, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. His wife, Peggy, and family were at his side bringing him comfort as he finished his earthly journey far too soon. Jim was born in Crookston on July 3, 1957, one of three children of the union of Clarence and Wanda Jean (Buerstetta) Prosje. He attended Crookston schools and graduated from Central High School in 1975. He then attended Wahpeton (ND) State School of Science where he earned an Associate Degree in Architectural Drafting. Jim was united in marriage to Peggy Marlene Dubisar on February 10, 1984 in Crookston, and for many years had been employed at Phoenix Industries. He was a longtime member of the Christian Reformed Church. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and took great pleasure in making people laugh. He adored Peggy and their family and treasured time spent with them. He will be very lovingly remembered and missed. Jim is survived by Peggy, his beloved wife of 30 years; their daughter, Sarah Jean Prosje of East Grand Forks, MN; three step-children: Nate (Jessica ) Ellingson of Fertile, MN, Nicole (Joe) Amundson of New Prague, MN, and Jamey Ellingson of Elk River, MN; and six grandchildren: Olivia, Norah, and Sophia Ellingson, Dayton and Leif Amundson, and Jacob Kyle Ellingson. He also leaves his sister, Janet Blokzyl and her husband, Keith, of Gentilly, MN; brother, Tim Prosje and his wife, Lorrie, of Crookston; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Wanda Jean; uncles, Albert and Pete Prosje; and grandparents, Peter and Sadie Prosje. May God richly bless the memory of James Edward Prosje. A memorial service in celebration of the life of James Edward Prosje will be held at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014, with Pastor Douglas Shank, officiating. Visitation with the family will be for one hour prior to the service and burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston. Online registry:
