Janelle Fortier

Janelle Fortier, age 59, Moorhead, (formerly Crookston), died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Vibra Hospital in Fargo. Janelle Therese Fortier was born on June 10, 1954 in Crookston, Minnesota to Maurice (Morrie) and Beatrice (Bea) Fortier. She graduated from Mount Saint Benedict High School in 1972. After high school she moved to Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated from Moorhead Area Vocational Technical Institute in 1973 with a secretarial degree. She began working at NDSU College of Pharmacy after graduation and retired after 30 years of service. After retiring from NDSU, she worked at Goldmark Properties for a number of years. She was also an Avon representative for 30 years. She was involved with Professional Secretaries International and served as Chapter President. She also enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph School and at Touchmark Retirement Community. Janelle is preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by a half-brother Jim (Katie) Mishler, Grand Forks and many relatives and friends that will miss her immensely. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials can be given to the YWCA Shelter in Fargo, ND or the MCTC Foundation at Minnesota State Community and Technical College Moorhead. Janelle's funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, with the Very Rev. Vincent Miller, presiding. Visitation will be for one hour before services at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Crookston.
