Joseph Goulet

Joseph Andrey Goulet, 74, of Crookston, MN, died peacefully early Friday morning, January 9, 2015, at his residence with his loving wife, Roxanne, and many of his family at his side. Andy, as he was best known, was born on October 12, 1940 at Walhalla, ND, the son of Joseph Arthur and Lena Mae (Bartlett) Goulet. He was baptized at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla, attended country school near Walhalla, and furthered his education at the Detroit Lakes (MN) Technical School studying small engine repair. On April 7, 1979 Andy was united in marriage to Roxanne Thomas at the home of her parents in Bloomington, MN. His working career was spent as an iron worker, and was always considered to be a jack of all trades. Andy enjoyed bowling, and spending time with Roxanne and their family camping, boating, taking traveling vacations, and visiting casinos. To family and friends he was known as the "Big Dog", and though he enjoyed being a prankster and sometimes scaring people and dogs alike, he had a heart of gold and was at his best and happiest when able to help others in need. Andy is survived by Roxanne, his beloved wife and best friend of 35 years; 7 children: Julie (Jon) Garcia of Waupaca, WI, Bobbi Jo Goulet, Jeremy Andre Goulet, and Kelly Lynn Goulet, all of Crookston, MN, Brett Allen Goulet of Bismarck, ND, Barry Scott (Jessica) Goulet of Valley City, ND, and Stacie Duggan of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves 12 siblings: Joseph M. (Linda) Goulet of Ray, ND, Deloris Chambers of Crookston, Dorothy Schell of Page, ND, Joseph Earl (Paula) Goulet of Tomah, WI, Donna (Kermit) Gunsolley of Walhalla, ND, Mona (Gene) Hoffman of Crookston, Joseph Marvin Goulet of Mahnomen, MN, Joseph Marlin Goulet of Crookston, Joseph Lloyd (Angie) Goulet of Ogilvie, MN, Judy Ann (Freddy) Cook and Gerald Dean (Denise) Goulet of Walhalla, and Joseph Rodney Goulet of Crookston; a sister-in-law, Pam Goulet of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lena Goulet; 3 sons: Darby and Darren Goulet, and Poncho Patton; a grandson, Jesse Arthur Andrey Mendoza; 2 brothers, his twin, Joseph Audrey Goulet, and Louis Andrew Goulet; a sister and her husband, Louise Leola (Stan) Foster; and 2 brothers-in-law, Jim Chambers and Earl Schell. May God richly bless the memory of Joseph Andrey Goulet. A Cultural Ceremony celebrating Andy's life will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston led by Lloyd Goulet.
