Joy Ann Goulet, 60, of Crookston, MN, passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND early Sunday morning after battling health issues for several years.
Joy was born in Crookston on June 25, 1962 to Betty Lou Peterson. She grew up in Euclid and was educated in Crookston schools, graduating from Central High School with the Class of 1980. For the next several years she held various positions while working for the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home. She later worked as a housekeeper for Crookston hotels while also being a caregiver for her grandmother. Until her retirement Joy was a production worker for the ODC in Crookston.
In past years Joy enjoyed going for long walks and watching the birds as they sang for her. Crafting and scrapbooking were two of her favorite hobbies. She also had a rather large collection of Precious Moments that she like to sit and look at, remembering how each and every piece came to her. Joy was a people person who loved everyone and was loved just as much in return. Her children have wonderful memories of what a great mother, and grandmother to Jazmyne, she was. Joy will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were touched by her life.
Family members include her 4 children: Travis Peterson of Crookston, MN, Christina Goulet of Crookston, Angela Goulet of Fosston, MN, and Cory Larson and his fiancée, Katie Vahnoutki, of Fargo, ND; her beloved granddaughter, Jazmyne; and other relatives, and friends. Joy was preceded in death by her son, Donovan Eddie Larson; her mother, Betty Lou Peterson; and grandmother, Dorothy Clara-Justina Peterson.
A funeral service celebrating Joy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston with friend of the family, Philip Aalgaard, officiating.
