Karen Marie Brouillard, age 75, Crookston (formerly International Falls, MN), died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Villa St. Vincent in Crookston. Karen Marie Cowlishaw was born on December 25, 1938 at Waterloo, Iowa. She grew up at New Hampton, Iowa, graduating from high school. She trained as a beautician and worked for a short time as a hairdresser. She moved to Phoenix, Arizona and in the late 1980's moved to International Falls, MN, where she worked at the Hideaway as a clerk for many years. She was united in marriage with James Brouillard on December 2, 1989 at International Falls. They lived there until moving to Crookston in 2013. She and James worked weekends at a senior home in International Falls during the summer. Karen was known for her love of people and exercise, walking daily up to three miles. She is survived by her husband of twenty four years: James Brouillard; three sons: Tim Rogers of Phoenix, Terry Rogers of Phoenix and Ted Rogers of Tempe; two brothers: Joseph Cowlishaw of Scio, OR and James Cowlishaw of International Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sibling. Karen's funeral mass will be held at 2 PM, Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Crookston, with the Rev. Vincent Miller presiding. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Crookston. Stenshoel-Houske, Crookston is assisting with the arrangements.
