Leone Brule

September 8, 1937 — December 12, 2015

Leone (Longtin) Brule, age 78, of Gentilly and then Williams, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Warroad Senior Living Center in Warroad, MN.

She was born to Rose Desselier and Leo Longtin on September 8, 1937 at Red Lake Falls. Leone was a farm wife, an Accredited Medical Records Technician, a former student of Bemidji Teachers College, a Catholic Daughter, an American Legion Auxiliary member, a Homemakers Club member, an accomplished seamstress and crafter, a staunch advocate for second (and third and fourth) chances, and a joke teller with killer timing. If you knew her – you will NEVER forget her.

She leaves behind the love of her life, Leo Rene Brule, who devoted himself completely to keeping her in their home as long as he could. They were looking forward to celebrating 60 years of marriage next September 1st. Leone also leaves behind the children she fiercely loved; Maurice (Pamela) Brule, Carolyn (Stewart) Rudi, Susan Brule, Sarah (Paul) Kujawa; her brother, Donald Longtin; three sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Longtin, Delores Longtin and Gloria Brule; grandchildren, nieces and nephews galore. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings, Jerome (Simone) Rolle, Leo Longtin, Ludger (Ella Mae) Longtin, Clarence (Helen) Longtin, George (Delores) Longtin, Louis (Alice) Longtin, Doris (Orlie) Uggerud, and Eraine (Clarence) Derosier; a sister-in-law, Karen Longtin; and on her beloved husband's side of the family, she was predeceased by Leo's siblings, Rose (Joe) Gagnon, Lucille (Maurice) Maygra, and Rolland (Gloria) Brule and two babies in the Gentilly Cemetery she never had the pleasure to raise. We all take pleasure in the knowledge that her family welcomed her to heaven with tables filled heavy with food, dancing, jokes, card games and outrageous pranks. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gentilly. Visitation will be in the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral & Cremation Service Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
