Lois Noah

April 4, 1931 — May 18, 2015

Lois K. Noah, 84, of Crookston, MN, passed away at her home Monday, May 18, 2015. Lois was born on April 4, 1931 at Bismarck, ND, the only child of Arnold and Helen (Eggert) Klick. She grew up at Hebron, ND and graduated from Hebron High School in 1949. She was a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota earning a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Lois was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority and played trombone in the marching band. After graduation she moved to Crookston. Lois worked for Polk County as a social worker for several years. Lois met the love of her life at Maple Lake on Memorial Day, 1956. On September 8 of that year she was united in marriage to Thomas James "Jim" Noah at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. Over ten years their marriage would be blessed by the births of seven children. Together, Lois and Jim raised them in the Catholic faith and supported their many activities. Lois was a lifelong "Fighting Sioux" hockey fan.

Sadly Jim passed away on April 22, 1994. Lois remained comfortably settled in her home where she loved and spoiled her two cats, solved the Sunday crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader. She became very adept at keeping up with family and friends through Facebook. Lois was a loving and wise Grandma, who was her grandchildren's biggest fan. Her sense of humor was laugh out loud funny. Loving family members include her seven children: Kathy and Marty Duchscher of Silver Bay, MN, Tom and Terri Noah and Bill and Diane Noah of Crookston, Dan and Janet Noah of Riverview, FL, Karen and Jim Broekemeier of Crookston, Susan Noah and Erik Harms of Bloomington, MN, and Jim and Shannon Noah of Crookston; 12 grandchildren: Kimberly and Kyle Duchscher, Joe and Nick Noah, Jacqueline (Chris) Cournia, Joshua Noah, Christine (Eric) Johnson, Tayler, Jessica, and Nicholai Broekemeier, and Luke and Gabriel Noah; five great-grandchildren: Parker Noah, and Caitlyn, Johnny, and Ian Cournia, Lindsay (Brett) Anderson, and their children; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jon and Carolyn Noah of Amery, WI; a sister-in-law, Carol McKibben of Altoona, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Jim; and her parents, Arnold and Helen Klick. Blessed be the memory of Lois Noah. Mass of Christian Burial for Lois K. Noah will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston with The Rev. Vincent Miller, presiding. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2:00pm. Inurnment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Crookston. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Lois' name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Humane Society of Polk County in Crookston. Online registry:
