Margaret A. Kasprick, 88, of Tacoma, WA, and formerly of Angus, MN, died peacefully Thursday morning, January 17, 2013, at the Olympia Adult Family Home in Lakewood, WA. Margaret was born in Roseau County, near Badger, Minnesota, on February 3, 1924, one of six children of the union of Max and Mary (Taus) Kasprick. At the age of four she moved with her family to a farm in Angus Township, near Warren, Minnesota. She attended elementary school at a nearby country school, and high school in Warren, graduating as a member of the Class of 1940. In 1943 Margaret moved to Tacoma, Washington. Her career was spent in the business world as an executive secretary for the St. Paul and Tacoma Lumber Company, where many life-long friendships were formed. Margaret thoroughly enjoyed her life in Tacoma-the panoramic scenery, and many outings made with friends to the nearby mountains and ocean. She also liked to travel, spending time in Hawaii and other distant and interesting places. Her favorite pastimes included dancing, walking for exercise, club memberships, and participating in various social activities. Trips back to Minnesota to visit her family often included a trip to Duluth, Minnesota and the North Shore of Lake Superior, where she enjoyed gazing out over the "big water." Margaret was a lady of great faith, and a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tacoma. Over the years she took part in many church activities and volunteered her services in any way she could. Margaret touched many lives and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Loving family members include her sister, Ruth Beiswenger of Crookston, MN; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Adelaide Kasprick of Angus, MN, Lyle and Kathleen Kasprick of Wayzata, MN, and The Rev. Roger Kasprick, O.S.B., of Collegeville, MN; a sister-in-law, Anne Kasprick of Angus; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Mary; a brother, Harold, who died in September of 1984; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Beiswenger, who died on June 18, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret A. Kasprick will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2013, in the Chapel of the Mount St. Benedict Monastery, Crookston, Minnesota, with The Very Rev. Roger Kasprick, O.S.B., presiding. Visitation with the family will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Crookston. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in Margaret's name to the Sisters of St. Benedict or a charity of your choice.
