Marlene Gray

June 4, 1947 — October 12, 2013

Marlene F. Gray, age 66, rural Climax, died Saturday, October 12, 2013 at her home. Marlene F. Przybylski was born on June 4, 1947 in Warren, MN, daughter of Gordon and Eleanor (Borowicz) Przybylski. She spent her early years in Argyle, MN and the family moved to Crookston, where she began grade school. She went to high school at Mount St. Benedict and attended UMC, where she got her degree as an LPN. She went to St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo and got her Registered Nursing Certificate. Marlene worked at RiverView Health in Crookston, United Health in Grand Forks (now Altru) and with Valley Memorial in Grand Forks. She was united in marriage with Cameron "Butch" Gray on June 28, 1975 at the Sand Hill Lutheran Church in Climax. They made their home in rural Climax. Marlene put passion into what gave her the most pleasure: her cooking and decorating, her work with her patients, and most of all her family, children and grandchildren. Affectionately known to many as Busha, she looked forward to having her family around her for holidays and fun gatherings held at "da farm." Her compassion and loving nature could be seen in her family and friends' smiling faces when they unwrapped special gifts, enjoyed her favorite dishes, or played games. Her secret love of animals was not known to many but animals gravitated to her and she gave them their own special treatment. To try and say all that was wonderful about Marlene is difficult other than the world is a very different place without her. Her wisdom, humor, quick wit, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband: Butch; three daughters: Lynnette (Terry Shanks) Gray of Foristell, MO, Kristen Vesledahl of Regent, ND, and Stephanie (Jim) Kappel of Waconia, MN; six grandchildren: Hannah Vesledahl, Jenna Solheim, Tanner Vesledahl, Madeline Vesledahl, Jack Kappel and Max Kappel; her mother: Eleanor Solberg of Warren, MN; seven siblings: Mary Przybylski of Brookyn Park, MN, Leonard (Lori) Przybylski of Eagan, MN, Gordon (Yvonne) Przybylski of Indianapolis, IN, Tom (Elizabeth) Przybylski of Cedar Falls, IA, Dave Przybylski of Overland Park, KS, Dan Przybylski of Fargo, ND, and John Przybylski of Brooklyn Park, MN; sister-in-law: Aldine Ellisor of Moundview, MN. She was preceded in death by her father: Gordon Przybylski; and her in-laws: Cameron Gray and Marian Gray. The memorial service for Marlene will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Sand Hill Lutheran Cemetery, rural Climax, MN.
