Marvin John Purrier Sr., 62, of Crookston, MN, died Saturday morning, March 28, 2015, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Marvin was born at Faribault, MN on July 5, 1952, and was the son of Leroy and Bernice (Luebke) Purrier. He attended Morristown, MN public schools and later worked in maintenance and as a painter in a several state area, including time spent in Crookston. On May 18, 2001 Marvin was united in marriage to Sherry Schulz at Charles City, IA. The couple lived for a time in Iowa and Wisconsin before moving to New Mexico for five years. They came to Crookston six years ago because Marvin had always held fond memories of his earlier time spent here. In semi-retirement he had been helping out doing maintenance work for the Grandview Apartments, where they lived. He had recently become a minister with the Universal Life Church. Marvin's favorite pastime was glass etching, something he had become very accomplished at. Marvin is survived by his wife, Sherry, and friends. A private service will be held for him. May God bless his memory. Online registry:
