Michael Brault

Michael Thomas Brault, 56, of Crookston, MN, died peacefully at the Villa St. Vincent Saturday morning, November 30, 2013, with his family at his side. Mike was born in Crookston on October 22, 1957, and was the son of Clarence and Elaine (Page) Brault. He grew up on the family farm near Gentilly, MN, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gentilly. He attended Crookston schools and graduated from Central High School in 1975. Mike was employed by Skinner Roofing in Grand Forks, ND throughout his working career, and made his home in Grand Forks during those years. He retired due to ill health several years ago and had been a resident of the Villa since March of 2009. Mike was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Jeremy and family, and looked forward to visits from his nieces and nephews. His favorite pastime, in fact the passion of his life, was riding his Harley. Mike leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Jackie Aker of East Grand Forks, MN; two grandchildren, Julia and Jolie, with another on the way and expected in January; four siblings: Ray Brault of Devils Lake, ND, Teri Brault (fiance', Jerome Januszewski) of Crookston, Maurice (Shawn) Brault of Gentilly, MN, and Mary (Robert) Sirek of Crookston; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elaine; two brothers, Walter and Robert Brault; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Brault. A memorial service for Michael Thomas Brault will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston with Deacon Dennis Bivens, officiating. Visitation with the family will be for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Gentilly. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Mike's name to the Villa St. Vincent.
