Mylon Allan Coauette

November 14, 1944 — December 8, 2024

After a courageous four-year battle with cancer, Mylon Allan Coauette passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 80. Mylon was born in 1944 in Crookston, Minnesota, where he was raised and attended Crookston Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1962. In 1977, he married Patricia Ness Coauette, and they built a life together for over four decades.

Mylon was born to Wilfred and Lucille (Jolly) Coauette and is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bob and Duane Coauette, and his sister-in-law, Gayle Coauette.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Pat Coauette, his son, Mark (Jo Ann) Coauette from Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Michelle (Rob) Gutierrez from Norfolk, VA, and son Mitchell (Peggy) Coauette from Crookston. Mylon was the grandfather of nine grandchildren and great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.

In 1962, Mylon moved to Van Nuys, California, where he began working for General Motors. He remained with the company until 1971. However, his career was temporarily interrupted when he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Airborne from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. After completing his military service, Mylon resumed his work at General Motors before eventually returning to Crookston.

Upon his return, he joined Terra, formerly known as Fertile-Flow in Crookston, where he worked for 28 years. He also worked for Northern Paving until his well-deserved retirement in 2009.

Mylon enjoyed gardening, fishing, and watching sports on TV. He will be remembered most for his strong will, his stubbornness, and his ability to always speak his mind with honesty and conviction.

A visitation and Celebration of Life will be held in late Spring.
