Nancy Hanson

Nancy Ann Hanson, age 80, of Crookston, MN died in her home late Friday morning, October 30, 2015 with friends and family by her side. Nancy was born at Little Falls, MN on March 24, 1935, one of two children of the union of Charles and Ardean Johnson Kiewel. They moved to Crookston. Nancy attended Crookston Public Schools. On January 25, 1958 Nancy was united in marriage to George Hanson at Las Vegas, NV. She and George made their home on their Fairfax Township farm until moving into Crookston in the early 1960's. They moved back to a new home they built on the farmstead in 1975 and in 1997 Nancy and George returned to Crookston.

Nancy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling with George and their friends in their younger years. Nancy had a love for shopping up to her last days. She had fun playing scratch off lottery tickets and took pleasure in caring for family pets. Nancy was proud of her children and grandchildren. She delighted in spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was an exceptional woman who will be greatly missed by all. Nancy leaves behind sons, Michael (Marlene) Hanson and Marc Hanson of Crookston, MN; son-in-law Brian Anderson of Crookston; four grandchildren: Lorelei Jorgenson of Grand Forks, ND, Krystle (Dominic) Haugen of Duluth, MN, Blake Hanson of Crookston and Austin Hanson of Fergus Falls, MN; five great-grandchildren: Mantana, Adalyn, Laila, Xavier and Gia. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband George who passed away September 20, 2014, her daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" Anderson who passed away on June 11, 2009, her brother Thomas "Tommy" Kiewel and her parents. Blessed be the memory of Nancy Ann Hanson. A visitation for Nancy will be at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 5-7:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm. The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11:00am at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN with lunch following the service.
