Neil "Bubba"

Neil Walter Parkin (Bubba), age 59, of Euclid MN, passed away at his home June 1, 2015. Neil was born November 23, 1955 in Crookston MN, the son of Loren and Gertrude (Mahla) Parkin. He was baptized and confirmed at Euclid's Presbyterian Church. He grew up in Euclid and attended school in Crookston, graduating from Crookston Central High School with the class of 1974. Neil married the love of his life Carol Frances Pahlen on July 30th, 1977. July would have marked their 38th Anniversary. Together they made their home first out in the country south west of Euclid. Neil was employed by Wallace farms until he became a full time employee for the Polk County Highway Dept. 37 years ago. When Neil wasn't working he loved camping with Carol in Warren. There, they would golf, visit with friends and relatives and build wonderful campfires. He was a huge NASCAR (or Nap Car) fan. He was lucky enough to attend 2 races through the years. Neil's favorite pastime was spending time with his grandkids. Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by the little ones. Cherished family members of Neil include his loving wife Carol of 37 years; two sons, Brent (Erica) Parkin of Pine River, Michael (Melissa) Parkin of Crookston; grandchildren, Lydia, Gage, Leia, Korte and Mya; siblings, Robert Parkin of UT, Howard (Sherrie) Parkin of CA, Curt (Tammi) Parkin of Crookston, Marilyn (Henry) Weiland of Euclid, Keith (Kim) Parkin of Crookston; sister-in-law, Maureen Parkin of East Grand Forks; in-laws, Les Pahlen of ND, Billy (Lois) Pahlen of Euclid, Joyce (Walt) Christiansen of Crookston, Kathy (Skip) Cormican of WA, Lois (Jim) Chandler of Crookston, Danny (Judy) Pahlen of Warren, Margaret (Chuck) Huston of Crookston, Jerry (Julie) Pahlen of Roseau, Mary Kay (Chris) Plante of Crookston and Mark (Maria) Pahlen of Roseau MN. Neil is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell and Wayne Parkin; in-laws, Mary and Jake Pahlen; brother-in-law, Kenny Pahlen. Funeral Services will be 10:30am Friday June 5, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Euclid, MN. Visitation will be held 4pm-7pm Thursday June 4, at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home of Crookston, with visitation one hour prior to service at the church.
