Norma Brown

Norma Lillian Brown, 89, entered into eternity on Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Riverview Care Center in Crookston, MN, surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born on August 19, 1927 in Fosston, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Ingeborg (Rodland) Anderson. She graduated from Fosston High School on May 31, 1945. Norma was united in marriage to Donald Allen Brown on October 29, 1949 at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Bagley, MN. The couple moved to Crookston in 1950, where together, they raised their five children. Norma was employed for a number of years at Dahlgren and Company, but her greatest joy and accomplishment was raising and being there for her children and grandchildren. Sadly, Don passed away on his 49th birthday, May 23, 1978. Norma loved the Lord and was a shining example of faith to all who knew her. She had a quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and filled our lives with laughter even to the end. Norma is survived by her 5 children: Ronald (Carol) Brown of Blaine, MN, Paul (Naomi) Brown of Rochester, MN, Valerie Brown of Crookston, MN, Darlene (John) Scheving of Greeley, CO, and recently of Crookston, and Kelvin aka "Kelly" ( Linda) Brown of St. Joseph, MN; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Robert (Marilyn) Anderson, Norman Anderson, and Erling Anderson, all of Fosston, MN; two sisters, Esther Carlson of Park River, ND and Elsie Gullekson of Fertile, MN; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, Don, Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ingeborg Anderson; her brothers: Joseph, Ingvald, and Alf Anderson; and sisters: Agnes Potter, Thelma Hanson, and Mabel Anderson. The family would like to thank the Riverview Care Center for their unending, dedicated, and loving care given to our sweet mother. May God richly bless the memory of our precious mother. The funeral service for Norma Lillian Brown will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2016, at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston
