Patsie Erickson

Patsie "Pat" Sundberg Erickson, passed away July 12, 2016, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Pat was born to Gunnar and Clarice (Cassibo) Sundberg, in Thief River Falls, MN on April 15, 1939. Pat grew up in Strandquist, MN and International Falls, MN. She graduated high school from International Falls in1957. She moved to Crookston, MN after high school to attend the Crookston School of Practical Nursing. She graduated with her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse on September 8, 1958. Pat married the love of her life Donald Raymond Erickson on October 17, 1959, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Crookston. Sadly, Donald passed away in 2004. Pat began her career in Crookston as an LPN at the Bethesda Nursing Home. Then, she worked at the Glenmore Recovery Center for many years. She left Glenmore, as the Director of Nursing, to finish her career at the Northwestern Mental Health Center as a Mental Health Practitioner. She was still employed by NWMHC at the time of her passing and touched many lives. Pat was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, casino adventures, bingo, traveling, country music, spending time with friends and family, retreating to the cabin at Maple Lake, and fishing. She and her husband were well known for their woodcraft business they created together, Woodcrafts by Don and Pat. She was loved for her brilliant wit, charm, and fun prankster spirit. Pat was a spiritual person with a real zest for life. Pat is survived by five daughters: Cindy Iverson of Eagle, ID, Dawn Myhre of Long Prairie, MN, Carol (Alisa Nygard) Erickson of St. Paul, MN, Shelly (John) Panzer of Crookston, MN and April Erickson of Minneapolis, MN, ten grandchildren: Leigh (James) Ball of Nampa, ID, Amanda (Angelo) Romano of Anchorage, AK, Ben Myhre of Long Prairie, MN, Addie (Matt) Verant of Alexandria, MN, Cody Myhre of Austin, TX, Emma Myhre of Long Prairie, MN, and Brett, Breanna, Brittany, and Brooke Panzer, all of Crookston, MN, and five great-grandchildren, brother-in-law: Ronald Erickson of Crookston, MN, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives. Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald, her parents, siblings: Aggie Bleise, Dona Donarski, brother-in-law Wayne Donarski, and Joyce Miller, two grandsons: Christopher Iverson and Dillon Myhre, mother and father-in-law: Martha and Norman Erickson. The funeral service for Patsie Erickson will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, July 18, 2016, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston. Visitation will at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-7:00 pm, with a 7:00pm prayer service, and also at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Inurnment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston.
