Ralph R. Peterson, 70, of Crookston, and formerly of Seattle, WA, died peacefully at the Villa St. Vincent early Wednesday evening, May 28, 2014. He had been bravely battling cancer for the past three years. Ralph was born in Crookston on February 28, 1944, one of four children of the union of Edwin C. and Wilma (Strome) Peterson. After graduating from Central High School he went on to further his education at college and then moved to Seattle, WA. While living most of his life in Seattle, Ralph managed an apartment complex and worked as a realtor. Following the recent death of his friend and companion of twenty-five years, Rita, Ralph returned to Crookston three months ago to spend the time he had left with his family. They will be forever grateful to the staff at the Villa for showing their brother and uncle such kindness and for giving him very wonderful care during his last months. Loving family members include his brothers and their wives, Richard and Vivian Peterson of Crookston, MN, and Robert and Peggy Peterson of Phoenix, AZ; his sister, Marian Struebing of Toledo, OH; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to his friend, Rita, he was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Wilma. May God bless Ralph's memory. A graveside service for Ralph R. Peterson will be held at 3:30 pm, Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston with The Rev. Jo Gast, officiating.
