Ruby Ann Gaber

Ruby Ann Gaber, 61, of Warren, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the North Star Manor in Warren. She was born in Crookston, MN, on July 1, 1963 to loving parents, David and Shirley (Hinrichs) Gaber. 

Ruby grew up in Euclid and graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1981. From there, Ruby went onto Brainerd Technical School from which she graduated in 1983. After graduating, Ruby moved to Crookston where she was employed at the ODC as a secretary. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Euclid and also a member of the Euclid American Legion Auxillary. 

Ruby never married and had no children, her family was very important to her, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved them dearly and would gift each of them a “rainy day set” at Christmas time. She never missed calling someone on their birthday, her family will miss hearing her say, “I just thought I’d give you a jingle,” when she’d call. Family was a very important aspect in Ruby’s life, and she knew her family’s history in such great detail that she was referred to as the “The Family Historian.” She did so much research on the family tree that she could tell you any birthdate, death date, or anniversary of anyone in the family. 

Ruby spent the majority of her life in Crookston, up until 2023, when she moved to North Star Manor in Warren. Her family will miss her smile and the love she had for them. Ruby was a treasured soul with a bright personality and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. 

Ruby is survived by her brothers and sisters: Deb (Jeff) Ramsley, of Minnesota Lake, MN; Lynn Gaber, of Rochester, MN; Jerry (Margee) Gaber, of Las Cruces, NM; Shelly (Rob) Kappelhoff, of Red Lake Falls, MN; Brent Gaber, of East Grand Forks, MN; and Paula (John) Borg, of Viking, MN; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Shirley Gaber; as well as a sister, Cindy Gaber. 

The Memorial Mass honoring Ruby’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Euclid, MN, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior to Mass. Burial will take place in Spring at St. Dorothy Cemetery.
