Sharon Olslund

Sharon Olslund, age 73, of Crookston, MN, passed on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston with her loving husband by her side.

Sharon McFarlin was born on March 1, 1948, in Crookston, MN, the daughter of the late R. Harry and Arla (Bjorge) McFarlin.  She was raised in Crookston and graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1967.  She married Thomas Olslund on September 9, 1967, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN.  They made their home in Crookston and Sharon was a devoted wife and mother.  She also worked in the scale house during beet harvest for 33 campaigns for American Crystal Sugar.  She was an avid gardener and always had to have the best yard in Crookston.  She also enjoyed going with Tom to various car events throughout the years.

Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Thomas “Tom” Olslund of Crookston, MN; sons, Todd and Trent Olslund, both of Crookston, MN; 5 grandchildren, Amber, Ian, Thalia, Thaoden, and Atticus; granddog, Tuscon; and brothers, Kerry (Marti) McFarlin of Crookston, MN, and Scott (JoAnn) McFarlin of Maple Bay, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Arla McFarlin; sister, Deborah McFarlin; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Olslund.

Funeral service celebrating Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday June 25, 2021, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Crookston, MN, with a time of visitation one hour before.  Pastor Michelle Miller will officiate.  The service will be live streamed by going to www.stenshoelhouske.com scroll down to the bottom of Sharon's page.  Inurnment will be held at Lonestar Cemetery in Beltrami, MN, at a later date.
