Shirley Goering

Shirley Veronica Goering, 81, of Crookston, MN, passed away on January 5, 2018 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, under the care of Altru’s Hospice.

Shirley was born to Joseph G. and Veronica (Laubach) Felling on January 29, 1936 in Belgrade, MN. She married David A. Goering on April 18, 1955, and they were married for 58 years, making their home in Crookston for over 50 years.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Al) Hagemeier, Fargo, ND, Bobbie (Roger) Valley, Red Lake Falls, MN, David (Kelly) Goering Jr., Plymouth, MN, Chuck (Kim) Goering, Mentor, MN, Don (Theresa) Goering, Grand Forks, ND, Craig (Kristy) Goering, Grand Forks, ND, Duane (Alice) Goering, Peyton, CO, Edward (Doris) Goering, Colorado Springs, CO, Tracy (Jeff) Musolf, Shawnee, KS, and 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her sisters Delores (Howard) Handeland, Cottage Grove, MN, Dorothy Unger, Sauk Centre, MN, Georgia Rooney, Belgrade, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David, and siblings, Madeline Roel, Cyril Felling, Will Felling, Bernie Felling, Ernie Felling, Rudy Felling, Lovie Felling, Joseph (Buddy) Felling and Gary Felling, and several beloved in-laws.

The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 12, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN. A rosary will be held at 12:45pm before the service, with visitation with the family beginning at 1:00pm. Msgr. Joseph Goering will be presiding.
