Timothy Parkin

Timothy John Parkin, 52, of Salem, OR, and formerly of Fisher, MN, died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Tim was born to Ronald and Beverly (Stroot) Parkin on April 15th, 1961 in Crookston, MN. He grew up in Fisher, MN and was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Euclid and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church in Fisher. He graduated from Fisher High School in 1979 and a few years later moved to Salem, Oregon. He was united in marriage to Karleen (Risteen) Kitzmiller in June of 1988. Together they had a son, Ethan, and a daughter, McKenna. Tim had immense pride for his children and they brought great joy to his life. Tim's life career was as a dry-wall contractor. He gained an outstanding reputation in the area of construction for the exceptional work he did for his clients. Tim was an avid outdoorsman, and passionate about hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding his Harley. Tim was a very loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed by all. Tim is survived by his two children, Ethan and McKenna of Salem, OR; his parents, Ronald and Beverly Parkin of Fisher, MN; sisters, Cindy (Marlin) Ingebretson of Mayville, ND and Lynette (Wade) Borth of Fargo, ND; brother, Brian Parkin of Fisher; a niece, Erica and nephews, Ben and Josh; great-nieces, Ella and Lauren and a great-nephew, Adam; his grandmother, Elsie Stroot of Crookston, MN; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Harold and Grace Parkin; Leo Stroot; Joseph Stroot Sr.; uncles: Orville and Dale Parkin, Lloyd Nordenstrom and cousin, Mark Loeslie. Blessed be Tim's memory. A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Timothy John Parkin will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, November 16, 2013, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Fisher, MN, with Father Craig Vasek, presiding. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Fisher.
