Wayne Strickler

Wayne L. Strickler, 67, of Red Lake Falls, MN, died March 8th, 2013, at Sanford Health with family by his side, following a battle with cancer. The son of Bennie and Margaret Strickler, Wayne was born July 1st, 1945 in Rochester, MN. He was raised on the family farm near Euclid, MN where he worked as a young adult. As a young man Wayne enjoyed spending time at Adrian's Resort on Lake of the Woods, fishing for walleye with his parents. He graduated from Warren High School in 1963. Following graduation, Wayne attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND and Northwest Technical College in Crookston, MN. He then worked for Holcomb – Knutson Accounting and Forx – Rental. In 1975 he took over the family business, farming for nearly 20 years near Euclid, MN. For the past ten years Wayne had been working as an applicator and warehouse manager for CHS Ag Services in Grand Forks, ND, a division of CHS Inc. On July 19th, 1968 he was united in marriage to Charlotte Vansickle at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Warren, MN. He was an active member of the Melo Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed working with the Sunday school program for several years. Wayne was also involved with the Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation, as an advocate for strengthening rural communities through agriculture. His interests included spending time with family and friends, as well as, farming, gardening, fishing with his three children and hunting with his boys. He enjoyed bowling, softball, car racing and Warren Ponies sporting events. Wayne devoted much of his time to singing, a passion of his that will be remembered by many. Wayne is survived by Charlotte Strickler; sons, Bryan (Jennifer) Strickler of Farmington, MN; Tim Strickler (fiancé, Alissa Radcliffe) of Moorhead, MN; daughter, Carmen Strickler (fiancé, Gregg DeMers) of Fargo, ND; and two granddaughters, Cora and Ariana Strickler of Farmington, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Margaret Strickler. A funeral service celebrating the life of Wayne L. Strickler will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren, MN. Visitation will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren on Tuesday from 5-7:00 pm, and there will not be a prayer service. Visitation will also be at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Warren.
